The primary requirement for industrial robots, especially collaborative robots, is safety. To create a secure working environment, it’s essential for robots to recognize what constitutes an unsafe situation. For instance, the use of a collision sensor enables the robot to detect when it has come into contact with an object—and promptly send a signal to either pause or halt its movement. Beyond collision sensors, there are many other types of sensors as well, such as welding seam-tracking sensors, which are indispensable for achieving precise and high-quality welds, as well as tactile sensors, to name a few. These sensors equip industrial robots with a wide range of "senses," enabling them to operate more intelligently and with greater precision in their tasks.

A six-axis force sensor is a type of sensor that enables robots to perceive forces, allowing them to monitor the forces acting on the robot arm and, based on data analysis, guide the robot’s subsequent actions. As industrial robotics technology continues to advance, robots are no longer merely tools used for handling heavy objects. Thanks to the integration of sensor technologies, today’s industrial robots have become far more intelligent—sensors have given robots the ability to "feel," laying the foundation for their highly precise, intelligent operations.
