The development needs of the sensor industry

From a global perspective, it primarily comes down to technological advancement—specifically, whether this progress is keeping pace with the needs of industrial manufacturing. Looking at China's current situation, first and foremost, investment remains insufficient for most enterprises, meaning they either lack adequate funding or face financial constraints. Secondly, Chinese companies often exhibit an inadequate global outlook. Finally, there are ongoing challenges related to technology R&D as well as product pricing.

In addressing these challenges, the government should also provide strong support—for instance, by offering financial subsidies for product development. This would significantly ease the pressure on companies when launching products like 2D force sensors onto the market, as survival remains the ultimate priority for businesses. Currently, the sensor industry is already showing signs of consolidation, with companies entering this space increasingly scaling up in size. However, whether large or small, every enterprise must identify its own unique niche; otherwise, without distinct competitive advantages, they risk quickly being eliminated in the cutthroat marketplace. Moreover, firms need to adopt a globalized mindset. Only by thinking ahead and maintaining a long-term perspective can companies gain a sustainable edge—both technologically and commercially—preventing them from being swiftly overtaken by homogenized competitors. Finally, manufacturers should proactively strive to reduce prices as much as possible, thereby stimulating market demand. Higher sales volumes will, in turn, encourage greater investment in advanced technologies, helping companies tackle lingering challenges across various stages of production. Such efforts will not only benefit China’s sensor industry but also accelerate progress toward the nation’s Industry 2025 initiative.

Throughout the Industry 4.0 journey, sensors can be said to have enormous demand, a vast market, and wide-ranging applications. Yet precisely because of this, issues such as fragmented technologies, dispersed markets, and scattered investments have emerged—exactly what the single character "scattered" represents in today's sensor market. This fragmentation will also pose a significant challenge for future development.
